Barack Obama Will End the Iraq War

The Republican opponent of Barack Obama, Senator John McCain, had stated that American troops should remain in Iraq for one hundred years, at the cost of many trillions of dollars. President Barack Obama believes that Iraq war was madness.

Barack Obama opposed the Iraq war before it was launched, and his warnings have proven prescient. As president, Barack Obama will bring an end the a war launched on the basis of lies, which will already cost the American taxpayer more than three trillion dollars. As president, Barack Obama will end the Iraq war responsibly

Obama has stated many times that the United States must be as careful getting out of Iraq as it was careless getting in. Barack Obama intends to unleash diplomacy and political negotiations to stabilize Iraq, rather than subjecting the over-stretched volunteer American military to infinitely more tours of duty. The Army, National Guard and Marine Corps need rest and rebuilding after years of war in Iraq based on the neocon lies of the Bush administration. While the United States has been diverted by the Iraq blunder, Al-Qaeda has been rebuilding in Afghanistan. President Barack Obama will focus the American military on winning the war in Afghanistan, the territory where the 9/11 attacks were planned. Ending the war in Iraq means strengthening America's security, while enhancing her image around the world.
